About Recent Entries

Hello, all! Nov. 10th, 2006 @ 05:08 pm

Hullo, all! You don't know me, but I am a fan fiction writer whose muse recently died. I was searching the web for inspiration, but all the prompts made me feel like I was in English class again. I try to write daily, but sometimes there's just nothing there. Please continue your prompts. I need some inspiration when my muse takes a vacation, and your prompts are random and wierd enough that they get me motivated...usually.
Love,
Lena

So, I redid the layout of the community. Thought we needed a spruce-up. Looks fairly nice, if I do say so myself.

Sorry for my prolonged absence. It won't happen again... and if it does, I'll let xchasingsummerx or mumbled_dreams know in advance.

And... here are your prompts for this week:

1. Imagine your life is a book. In 100 words (or less) write the blurb found on the inside cover.
2. Write a story beginning with "A pale pink line flirted gracefully with the horizon".
3. Pick a random word from the dictionary. Write a poem with that word in it.
4. Write about a smell that takes you back to your childhood.
5. You’re stranded in a library or bookstore for 24 hours. In what section do you spend the most time? Why?
6. Open a baby name book and randomly pick a name. Write a brief history about a character with that name. What’s in his pockets (or handbag)? What are her hopes, dreams, desires, fears? Outline a story using that character.
7. Select a book from a random shelf in your home library. Copy down the last sentence, and use this line to begin a short story.
8. Just for fun, list 30 uses for a coat hanger.

I know there's not 8 days in a week, but just in case I forget again, I thought I'd include #8.
Mkay. Happy Journaling!

This week, is all about pictures...

1. Pull a random Photo Album or Scrapbook down of the shelf. Flip through it for a while, let the memories come flooding back. Then, find photo number 14. It could be 14 from the front, back, middle, side, wherever, as long as it's picture 14. Write about this picture and what it means to you.

2. Open a magazine. Write about the first picture you see.

3. Find a comic in today's newspaper. Write about how it applies to your life today.

4. Write about this pictureCollapse ). Write about why it's happening. Or what is happening.

5. Write about a poster on your wall. What does it mean to you?

6. What kind of emotion does your computer background give you?

7. Write about a really awful picture of you that you've tried to keep hidden for a long time.

Ah... memories.

I suppose that If I'm going to be Mod here I need to be here once in a while, eh?

So... In response to our new member's prompt (Welcome, by the way), Here goes...

"Instead of talking to people when you first met them, the only introduction you could give would be to show them a photograph. What would your photograph be of? Would it be color or black and white? Still or moving? Of a person or a thing? What would you be trying to say about yourself through this introductory photograph?"

The photograph I would show would be one of me in our school musical, or one of my with my instruments, or my friends, or with a cross.

Breakdown of picturesCollapse )

New member here, I chose out some prompts to get me feeling creative again.

"Instead of talking to people when you first met them, the only introduction you could give would be to show them a photograph. What would your photograph be of? Would it be color or black and white? Still or moving? Of a person or a thing? What would you be trying to say about yourself through this introductory photograph?"

I think in my photograph I would be jumping or running with the camera angled so that I am only in sky. The RestCollapse )
